 Reproduction Hall Lanterns
Floral Foliate Floral Foliate Hall Lantern
Hall Lanterns of this design, sometimes called 'Bell Jars', were originally made in the early 19th century for use in British Colonial and American Cololnial homes. Used to illuminate as well as to decorate entrance halls, foyers, and hallways, the hall lantern offered good lighting and a warm welcome to visitors of the early colonial homes.
Our replica Hall Lanterns are all handmade like the early 19th century originals. The glass domes and smoke bells are hand blown and have copper wheel engraved motifs. The solid brass hardware is also handmade, including the canopy, chain, bezel band with griffing head hooks, and ventilator cap. In most cases, the solid brass hardware is finished in dark bronze, which gives the brass an antique patina.
All Hall Lanterns are equipped with 20" of adjustable drop chain. Our Hall Lanterns are offered in several sizes
Large
with glass diameter of 12"x 13¾" deep and adjustable ceiling drop from 37" to 52". This size is recommended for 10' to 12' ceilings.
Medium
with glass diameter of 10½" x 11½" deep and adjustable ceiling drop from 31" to 47". This size is recommended for 9' to 10' ceilings.
Small
with glass diameter of 9½" x 9¼" deep and adjustable ceiling drop from 24" to 44½". This size is recommended for 8' to 9' ceilings.
Tiny
with glass diameter of 7" x 9¼" deep and adjustable ceiling drop from 23" to 39". This size is recommended for 8' to 9' ceilings.
