Yankee Craftsman has the largest selection of antique lighting in New England.
We have been collecting gas, gas
and electric (transitional), and early electric (pre-1930's)
lighting for over 30 years. We are continually adding to our
inventory on a daily basis. We have "pickers" who are
checking out auctions, flea markets and yard sales, searching for
treasures to add to our supply. Trips to Paris, Amsterdam and
Florence, among others, are made to find high-quality European
antique lighting. Because our inventory is so vast and constantly
changing, we can only show you a small portion on our website.
If you do not see the style, size or type of light you are looking
for, please feel free to email your request to
Yankee Craftsman Antiques.

Yankee Craftsman has been restoring antique lighting for over 30 years. The three owners, Bruce, Scott and Gary Sweeney,
are second-generation lighting restorers. Along with our other master craftsmen, we have over 100 years combined in restoration expertise. We have been on PBS's This Old House, Boston Channel 5 Chronicle, and New Yankee Workshop with Norm Abrams. Articles about Yankee Craftsman have been published in "This Old House Magazine", "Metro-West Newspapers", "Boston Design" and the "Boston Globe". We have done restoration jobs for Boston Museum of Science, Newton Highland Congregational Church, Newton, MA, Fairhaven High School, Fairhaven, MA, Historic Plymouth Library, Plymouth, MA, Merrimack Valley Baptist Church, Merrimack, NH, Milton Academy, Milton, MA, The First Church, Nashua, NH, Longfellow's Wayside Inn, Sudbury, MA, and the Lyman Estate, Waltham, MA (to name a few).
Yankee Craftsman always uses skilled techniques that will restore the
original finish on an antique fixture. If the finish is unable to be restored, we can
duplicate the look by using darkening agents and colored lacquers.
Some fixtures were originally polished and then lacquered,
so for those we would carefully remove the old lacquer, polish
and then re-lacquer them.
We have the largest supply of antique lighting parts in
the country, if not the world, so we are able to provide
hard-to-find missing parts for your chandelier or lamp.
We restore Tiffany, Handel and other high-quality lamps using
the original sockets and parts. Many of the high-end auction
houses hire us to restore their lamps or chandeliers before they
go to auction. Yankee Craftsman also does high-quality leaded
glass and panel glass repair.
There is no repair or restoration job too big or too
small - Yankee Craftsman does it all!

Yankee Craftsman offers a solid brass custom line of chandeliers,
pool table fixtures and sconces. From start to finish, they are
hand crafted…bent,
threaded, soldered, finished, assembled and lacquered by our
master craftsmen. Only the finest materials are used;
Teflon-coated wire,
porcelain sockets and anti-tarnishing lacquers. Whenever possible,
we use molds made from antique parts to create ceiling plates and
holders which duplicate the grace and style of originals.
We offer many different styles, from plain to fancy, high-polished
to dark bronze. All of our fixtures are triple coated with an
anti-tarnish lacquer specifically formulated for brass.
Yankee Craftsman also does custom finishes. Just send us a
knob or piece of hardware to match, and our craftsmen will
duplicate it as close as possible. Fixtures or sconces with
arms pointing down are 60 watts max, and with arms pointing up
they are 100 watts max.
We stand behind our products and craftsmanship with a
100% money back guarantee.
